PLAYBOY Land Yacht by SYD MEAD

So friends of mine will know that I am a huuuuge Syd Mead fan. Probably THE most badass futurist and an industrial design icon. Designing concepts for such movies as Bladerunner and Tron, he's pretty much every product designer's idol. Well mine at least. Anyway, as I was looking through some vintage Playboy magazines the other day, I came across a rare gem. A Syd Mead concept done for the June 1975 issue featuring the Land Yacht. Well I thought I would share it, since Syd Mead work is hard to come by, even in digital form. This concept embodies some pretty heavy-hitting concepts. Sex, speed and the nomadic lifestyle.
